So i recently finally got a new Amiga case and Keyboard, who knew that in 2026 you would be able to buy brand new Amiga hardware and cool tech, the Amiga community and its few shop and companies continue to amaze me.
The case is amazing, I always like the colour Commodore choose for the CD32 Console, but its surprising that it works so well for a modern looking A1200 system. The case is very well done, my only complaint is the optical Display port cut out that not many Amiga users do, but you can see it, other wise Id say it excellent.
I also got the keyboard, finally a new 100% compatible keyboard for Amiga cases and keycaps. Again the click ness and push back of the mechanical switch is perfect like the original Amiga, the only two things I would say is that the extra support bracket for the longer keys like the Space bar and shift keys are a bit of pain to put in. It also a shame it only comes with A1200 Ribbon Cable for now, they are working on A500, A2000, and USB support.
So really pleased I got this, as it is a limited Case design done by A1200.net.
Amikit X13
The best thing is also at the same time, my personal Fav distro, got a big update to version 13. It adds a bunch of new features and graphical changes that I quite like. AI is now also built it, which is pretty cool, but a optional extra for users. I have done a review for issue 29 of ZZap hopefully it makes the cut and you can read my full thought on the system there, here is a screen shot of my kinda cheeky thought of what i think the OS should be called 🙂
