Software : Amibench OS

Introduction

Amibench OS (v46) (https://wiki.amiga.org/index.php/AmiBench) is a newly developed OS by Amigakit, the system doesn't have an official deal with Clonato/Amiga Inc and so is powered by a heavily modified Aros OS and Aros Kickstart Replacement Rom. AROS Research Operating System (AROS – pronounced "AR-OS") is a free and open-source multi media centric implementation of the AmigaOS 3.1 APIs.

The big difference between Aros and Amibench is new features and features that were developed for AmigaOS4.1 Enhancer Pack have been backported to the OS. A new ARM graphics library has also been developed to bypass 68K code and better utilise the ARM GPU chip on Amibench systems. This will allow for much faster graphic rendering performance, already some OS data type and OS mini applications have been optimised to use this new library.

It uses ARM libraries to power the native rendering of the web pages. A good video demos most of its features https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4YyEZAIj64
