We join once again by Guest Blogger Egoitz, who share the latest Amiga Tournament news!
On the 31th of March Euskal Retro association organized the X. Basque Tournament of Commodore Amiga 500, a great computer that we play it in tournament twice a year. Seven players in total met, this time, in “Bar Almirante” (San Ignacio, Bilbao). We changed the bar, and now we are very happy in “Almirante bar”. We feel like its home. Like always we play Amiga 500 it was a very interesting afternoon. Before playing Amiga 500 we played ZX Spectrum, PC Engine and Master System, great consoles. But in my opinion the Amiga 500 is one of the best, for its great gameplay and graphics. A great treasure.
We played 3 great games:
Mega Phoenix; a classic in our tournaments of Commodore Amiga 500, simple game but great It’s really very similar to Space Invaders where you have to destroy ships that move randomly above you.
Then we started playing Paperboy, a classic game of the teenager who delivers newspapers. This game we played in the hard level. Egoitz got a big score but Dani also did well.
Finally we played Ooops Up, very similar to Pang. The same mechanics but with more futuristic backgrounds. In the end, Egoitz was the player who got more points but the rest of players did a good job, especially Daniel and Samuel. Axel only played Ooohps Up, but he did very well. I think in October 2026 we will gather again to play again a new basque tournament of Commodore Amiga 500, if all goes well. I will try to include new games Hope to have more friends around the Commodore Amiga 500 and play more games. Here you can look the results:
